Preparation Tips To Score Above 90% In CBSE Class 10 Science Exam

CBSE Class 10 Board Exams are very important in a student’s life. This is considered as clearing the first step towards shaping their career. However, just getting passing marks is not applicable for college. Everybody desires to get more than 90% in the CBSE board exams. Science happens to be one of the important subjects and it can be tricky.

Most of the students tend to opt for the science stream in their further studies as it has great options and directions for the leading career fields. Having a good handle on class 10 Science is very important as it forms a base or a foundation for a student’s knowledge for further studies. To score good marks in class 10 science, one must follow perfect guidelines and go according to the pattern of the question paper. The students who aspire to become engineers, doctors, or are interested in studying majors in the subjects of science must have the basic knowledge.

Class 10 Science is divided into further three subjects: Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. For a student aiming to score more than 90%, they should study and focus on important topics of all three subjects equally.

Before designing your study plan, go through the marks distribution per unit. Mark the important topics and focus all your attention on learning and revising those topics. Here is the marks distribution for the units:

Unit 1: Chemical Substances – 25 marks

Unit 2: World of Living – 23 marks

Unit 3: Natural Phenomena – 12 marks

Unit 4: Effects of Current – 13 marks

Unit 5: Natural Resources – 7 marks

This brings the total marks to 80. The remaining 20 marks are assigned for the internal assessment.

Tips To Score More Than 90% For Class 10 Science:

Follow NCERT:

The key to learning all the topics effectively is to study from NCERT Textbook. Most students do not realize it’s worth and tend to rely on the class notes, reference books, or additional materials. All the topics are covered in the NCERT Textbook which provides an insight into learning. It also contains the in-between and at the end chapter questions and exercises to test the student’s understanding of the chapter. Search for CBSE class 10 science notes pdf on an online platform for the solutions.

Write and Practice:

All three subjects have their share of difficulty. When it comes to Biology, they may ask you to draw well-labeled diagrams by explaining the process. Physics has both theory and numerical problems. You must be clear with the symbols involved to construct a circuit diagram or go through the formulae to solve the numerical problems. Chemistry does not take much time to prepare. It involves balancing the equations, periodic table, names of the elements and compounds, their properties, and functions and properties of acids, bases, and salts.

Solve Previous Year’s Papers:

After finishing your preparation, most of the students must consider solving two to three question papers. This will provide you with an insight into the level of difficulty of the question paper, and the pattern of the paper. It will also give you an idea of the important topics that have been repeated year after year so that you can revise them again.

During the Exam:

Utilize the first 15 minutes to read the question paper completely. While noting down the given data, do not make any mistakes. According to the marks allotted, write adequate and accurate answers with diagrams, if necessary.

Manage your time and finish writing the answers 15 to 20 minutes before time, to verify the paper for silly errors in the remaining time. Do not leave unanswered questions. Try writing the given data and the formula to get marks if you do not know the answers to the particular question.
